Depends how far back you have to go to be "old school." Early on, my fave was Space Invaders, but a few years later, Zaxxon. I was pretty good at Zaxxon, too, back when very few girls played.
LOL--actually, I'm just an old and uncoordinated person! The controllers for the console games freak me out, frankly. Give me a joystick or a mouse any day...
I'm also a big fan of Space Invaders, Asteroids, and the PacMan games. I got to play with my brother's Wii at Xmas, though, and I have to say it may pull me back to console games; I may not be able to cope with the clickers, but I know how to send a ball down the bowling lane!
Pong was the true original. Have to admit though, as a C64 owner I played Uridium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uridium) for a stupid amount of hours in my bedroom.
