Small Victories

Gorgeous day today; temp in the 50s, clear and clearly beautiful bright blue skies, air crisp and cool. Just incredibly good, which made the sad bits incredibly sadder. As I walked back to my office from the prayer vigil we held on campus, I thought about what I'd write in this post tonight when I got home.
They were everywhere on campus today. I love squirrels on a college campus. They make me grin like an idiot when I see them bouncing and leaping around. Several had gathered at the Major's tomb, and they were playing around the benches, full of life and energy and just general squirrely cuteness.
I'm sorry if squirrels squick you, but I just love to watch 'em.
It felt like they were telling me to make some happy. So after I finished up in my office, I came home, watched some tv (House tonight--my little Huddy heart got very excited), ate some supper (go Steve go!), and wrote some on my fic (next chapter of I'll Meet You is surprisingly 99% angst-free). And I feel good about life. Tonight was really no different from any other night, but it felt a little bit different.
That's today's victory--some non-specific good wrought from seeing a bunch of squirrels enjoying a beautiful fall day. Hope you're having a good one.
