Small Victories: Fall Break Edition
Oct. 22nd, 2008 08:16 amNot much to report here. Before the break, I made a list of all the things I wanted to get done and the things I had to get done. I assumed that I'd get the "have to" list done and that the "want to" list would languish, grow brittle, and disintegrate.
Of course, when you assume...
The long and the short is that I managed to stay away from work-related items (the "have to" list) until 1 p.m. yesterday. I take this as a major victory--spending 3 days not thinking about work is nice no matter what you do. I wrote a lot and watch TV and movies and DVDs. I did some quality knitting on my sweater. The victory is bittersweet, though, as it means that I spent yesterday evening and will spend this morning, most of the afternoon--hell, the rest of the week--feeling guilty about doing nothing and trying to catch up.
My desk is truly horrific.
So R&R--1, Peace of Mind--0.
Have a great day! I'm going to get frantically busy.
