Meme: Not-BTT
Jan. 9th, 2009 01:22 amSo BTT was not really interesting to me today (I can't remember the topic, and I can't be bothered to find the post), so I thought I'd toss out my own reading-related question:
What's the best thing you've read this year? Yes, I mean in 2009.
The first paragraph of Beloved. Mind you, I haven't read much more--I'm currently somewhere on page 2--but that one paragraph gave me more fodder for the class that I'm teaching on it than I ever thought possible. I could teach the entire class through the prism of that paragraph--that's how freakin' good it is.
So, what about you? What good words have you seen? Ad copy? Street signs? Headlines?

on 2009-01-10 05:56 am (UTC)I strongly recommend the actual novels, because the audio of Pirate Loop misses out some good stuff...
