A Bit of Knitting

Lest any of you think I've completely stopped knitting, here's proof of my endeavors.
I've put the sweater aside for the time being; it's a bit too unwieldy at the moment for knitting-while-grading/reading. When the term is done and grades are in and I feel not so guilty for sitting in front of the television (as opposed to now), I'll be able to pick it up again while watching--well, anything.
Instead, I've turned to the tried-and-true (and utterly useful) sock project. Hand-knit socks are love. One half of my latest pair:

Yes, that's my leg; yes, those are my pjs; no, I'm not pimpin' for Targus (although I do love that backpack); and yes, that's a teeny-tiny smidge of a hole at the ankle. I've grown accustomed to that wee opening where I pick up stitches to join the heel to the rest of the sock when I'm knitting, but will actually force myself to find a solution to that someday.
I'm working on the heel of the second sock now, so this one shouldn't be without a mate too much longer. I'm not utterly keen on the patterning--a bit to "animal" for me--but they're warm, wool, and socks, so I really can't complain! :-)
